In reality, sex should be spontaneous without making it mechanical by fixing the frequency, time, season and place of sexual act. The maximum sexual contacts desirable in an average healthy couple from the stand point of health is more than once a day in the first week after marriage, on alternate days in the first year of marriage, thrice a week for several years, twice a week for another many more years, once a week with onset of advance age and then occasional sexual intercourse after 60 years of age. The art, science of sex , grace and beauty of sexual intercourse should be appreciated and learnt systematically. Man is aroused early and reaches orgasm earlier than woman. Secondly man is already sexually stimulated at the time of sexual excited man who can initiate the sexual act. The woman is aroused late and reaches orgasm later than man. So the woman must be sexually stimulated prior to the actual sexual act. Love play is essential prior to the sexual intercourse. The penile strokes and friction movements must be deep, harsh, adventurous and non-continuous so as to prolong the sexual act.

The various postures adopted are innumerable. The most natural, normal and best enjoyed is with woman lying in supine position below the man who is in prone position above her.
